The 2023 Regional League competition will come to a completion this Sunday July 30 as Northwest’s Bafmeng United plays against Isle of Hope Sports Academy of Limbe.
The two anglophone clubs emerged triumphant in the national Inter-pools semifinals that was played on July 27, 2023.
Southwest Regional league champions who started the Inter-pools by picking up a point in their first game bounced back from their pool (A) to qualify for the semifinals and later gained promotion to Elite Two.
ISOHSA’S 2:0 victory over Pouma FC in the semi finals granted them an elite championship ticket, joining their derby side, Victoria United who recently advanced to first Division.
Bafmeng United, Champions of Northwest Region, were promising from the day one of the national Inter-pools and reaching the finals was very eminent.
The pool B leaders in the Inter-pools defeated Volcan du Noun 2:1 in extra time and booked a ticket to elite two.
Bafmeng United joins the likes of PWD, YOSA, Foncha Street, and Bafut Rangers to represent Northwest Region in both elite one and two Championships next season.
The coming season will have seven anglophone clubs participating in the elite championships in Cameroon.
